On August 28, 2024, the Nam Kathang (NKT) Fund Steering Committee held its fourth meeting at the Nam Theun 2 powerhouse. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Keooudone Boudsingkhon, Vice Governor of Khammouane Province. Attendees included NKT Fund Steering Committee members, the secretariat team, representatives from relevant district offices, and village chiefs who are beneficiaries of the fund.
During the meeting, participants received a report on the project’s year to date progress, which included the following:
- Construction of one new sling bridge and improvement of another.
- Reassessment and design of the irrigation canal Gate 5 construction project, followed by a proposal to the Steering Committee for approval prior to the bidding process.
- Improved coordination between the Secretariat Team and relevant offices regarding project proposal issuance and implemented project monitoring.
